The International Stainless Steel Forum has released figures for the full year 2016 showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 10.2% year–on–year to 45.8 million metric tons. The table shows the stainless steel melt shop steel production [metric tons x 1000]. An interesting fact is that global stainless steel production has almost doubled in the past decade while China’s share has grown by more than a factor of five.
